In recent weeks, France was affected by windless weather, which translated into insufficient electricity production - wind energy covered only 2% of French demand. Moreover, the reason for this is also the premature shutdown of the Fessenheim nuclear power plant, which took place in June this year. The remedy for the threat of a blackout turned out to be the resumption of operation of French coal-fired power plants, which are the only ones guaranteeing energy stability. The representative of the French energy system (RTE) indicates that the problem of inefficiency of RES does not currently only concern France, but all European countries,  because due to weak winds, wind energy is primarily ineffective.
