The USA is the first country to withdraw from the Paris Agreement
The administrative office of President Donald Trump gave the United Nations official note about the United States' resignation from the Paris Agreement. This resignation will come into force in the coming year. The decision to withdraw from the agreement is the result of – as the Secretary of State Michael Pompeo says: ‘unfair economic burdens imposed on US employees, entrepreneurs and taxpayers by US commitments under the agreement’. Donald Trump announced leaving the Paris Agreement in 2017, when he took office, then in his statements he often negated climate change, e.g. saying that ‘climate change is a fraud created by China to reduce the competitiveness of American industry’. The Paris Agreement was the first in history agreement adopted by such a large group of countries, especially the largest greenhouse gases emitents - the USA, China and India. The United States are the first country to withdraw from this agreement.
